The best way to ensure a party runs as intended is to use an event planning checklist. It doesn’t need to be anything too fancy, just a simple tick sheet that reminds you of the many aspects you need to remember. While every event will have its own unique style and different elements incorporated into it, most parties will follow a similar thread.
To help you out, we’ve created a simple kind of checklist you can use to make sure your party planning’s on track and you won’t be left high and dry on the day:
Plan, Plan, Plan
This is, by far, the most important part of the whole procedure. Failing to plan is planning to fail, so if you want your party to be a success, listen up. Choose a date in advance. This will give you a better chance of finding an available venue and ensuring most of your guests can attend.
Book The Venue
Make sure you do it in this order. Don’t assume that the venue will be free; invite everyone to come, only to find that it’s not.
Hiring Equipment
If your event is to be held indoors, this may already be provided. If not, make sure you have everything that you’re going to need to hire arranged, including heating, lighting, and flooring.
Draw Up a Timetable
To make sure things go to plan, draw up a timetable that shows when guests will eat, dance, make toasts, etc., to ensure everything fits in.
Create a Playlist
Be prepared by creating a playlist in advance. There’s nothing worse than sitting in silence waiting for someone to find another top tune to play.
Notify the Neighbors
Again, this may not apply if holding the party indoors or at a hired venue. But, if there is any chance that your neighbors may be disturbed on your big day, then just give them a friendly heads-up.
